  • About 20 minutes away: Golf at Discovery Harbor, and the historic agricultural town of Na’alehu
  • About half an hour away: Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, South Point (the southern-most spot in the USA), Wittington State Beach Park, and the fishing village of Miloli’i with its Honomalino Beach. 
  • About 45 minutes: Great snorkeling at both Honaunau and Kealakekua Bay, The Place of Refuge National Monument, and great swimming at Ho’okena beach.
  • About an hour: Kailua Kona to the north, and the bulk of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to the east.
